Thurifer
​
The thurifer is the altar server who carries and swings the thurible (censer) in which incense is burned during the Eucharist and other liturgies. The incense is a symbol of our prayer rising to the Heavens.
Candle Bearer
​
The Candle/Torch Bearer (TB) follows the Cross Bearer into and out of the church. Candles represent the light of Christ that takes away the darkness of the world.
Services
Altar Servers will provide assistance to the priest and deacon during Sunday liturgical celebrations as cross bearer, candle bearer and thurifer as assigned by the celebrant. Also, they can be the miter bearer and crosier bearer during Confirmation Mass. Altar Servers can also participate in other celebrations like Quinceañeras, weddings, funerals, etc.
Cross Bearer
​
The Cross Bearer(CB) lead the processional and recessional processions. It represents Christ leading his people into worship and then, into the world to spread the Good News to all that have not heard the Gospel yet. The CB also is in charge of the Roman Missal during mass.
